SALT WATER POOL
Poets, dancers, musicians, painters, and artists of all kinds are sure to find their muse in this small piece of paradise we like to call "La Boca", where the Mameyes River, which begins at the rainforest, meets the Atlantic Ocean.
El Yunque National Rainforest is only a 12-minute car ride away, but the best view of the actual forest is only a 5-minute walk from the villas, where you can enjoy the beautiful view at "La Boca". We recommend stopping at Degree 18 Juice Bar on the way down and cool down with some delicious and healthy smoothies and bowls.
Las Pailas is a beautiful, natural waterslide in Luquillo. It's a popular local spot with easy access and a 10-minute drive away. Sliding down an enormous rock and into a natural pool is very exciting but can also be dangerous, we ask our guests to be mindful and cautious when attempting these stunts.
La Monserrate is Luquillo's most popular public beach. With no waves, lot's of sand, shops, food stands, and ice cream, it's a great beach to visit with children and soak up the sun.
La Pared is Luquillo's surfing beach and a local hang out spot. You can take a surf lesson or rent a board and hit the waves. Afterward, grab a snack or drink at Boardrider's Surf Bar which is also a good spot to hang at night with live music on some weekends.
After a long day at the Rainforest or at any of Luquillo's beautiful beaches you might want to head over to one of over 40 of the famous Luquillo Kiosks, the Gastronomic Center of the East Coast just a 15 minute walk from Del Mar or take our bikes for a spin and get there faster. Make sure to ask for the Del Mar Guest Discount at Tattoo Tavern, Kiosk #17.
Another great attraction on the east coast is only 20 minutes away from the villas, The Laguna Grande Bioluminescent Bay. Take a tour of the bio bay and learn about the dinoflagellates, microorganisms that make the water glow. A great educational trip and wonderful sight to behold.
